Jesse joined the Silence Law Group in September 2023. Previously, he served in the United States Air Force as an Intelligence Analyst, twice deploying to the Middle East. During that time, he developed an ability to actively monitor the bigger picture, think strategically, and work tenaciously to accomplish the mission – all important traits that he continues to apply in his legal career. In 2015, Jesse left military service to attend Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, graduating in May of 2018.

While attending law school, Jesse honed his legal writing skills by serving as an Articles Editor for Jurimetrics –
The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology. He practices these writing skills every day by drafting motions for the court, correspondence with opposing counsel, or legal agreements geared towards accomplishing his client’s goals. During law school, he served as an extern with the United States Attorney’s Office and with Judge Susan R. Bolton of the United States District Court.  These unique experiences allowed Jesse to learn the best practices for appearing before the court and to familiarize himself thoroughly with the implementation of procedural rules – valuable lessons he uses today to navigate his client’s cases skillfully through the litigation process.

Throughout law school, Jesse accrued several academic achievements, including finishing first in classes ranging from Constitutional Law to Secured Transactions. During his third year of law school, the Dean recognized Jesse’s potential when he approved his participation in the Arizona Supreme Court’s 3L Bar program, a program then available to only a limited number of students. As part of the program, Jesse was given the opportunity to take the Arizona Bar Exam during his final year of law school, giving him a head-start in his practice of law.

Jesse is an experienced litigator and has represented clients in a wide range of matters, ranging from complex commercial claims (including business divorces; partnership disputes; intentional interference with business and contractual expectancies; and embezzlement), civil rights claims (Section 1983; Fair Housing Act; Americans with Disabilities; Rehabilitation Act; and Title VII), defamation claims, and constitutional claims (Free Speech; Free Exercise of Religion; Prior Restraint; Equal Protection; and Due Process). No matter what issues you face, Jesse has the experience to help navigate you through the litigation process.

In addition to being an experienced trial attorney, Jesse is a seasoned appellate practitioner. Jesse has argued several cases before the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Arizona Supreme Court, and, after only three years of practice, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Jesse’s stellar oral advocacy at the Ninth Circuit led to a settlement agreement on a previously intractable dispute. Jesse was also part of the appellate team that developed the arguments that led the Arizona Supreme Court to recognize the individual investigatory powers of the Commissioners of the Arizona Corporation Commission. Jesse is active in both Arizona Court of Appeals and Ninth Circuit pro bono appellate advocate programs and can put these skills to use when addressing any appellate issues his clients experience.
